With a unique collection of music, Teenage Dads take a genre-bending approach to their writing, taking inspiration from groups including Pond, The Beach Boys, The Beatles and DEVO; a modernised 1960’s psych rock/pop sound, with differing elements thrown in-between.
Noted for their charismatic, high-energy live performances, the group have seen success in a short time, having performed with acts including Northeast Party House, Radio Moscow (USA), Dumb Punts, Drunk Mums and Rackett in 2018 alone.
Teenage Dads write, record and produce all their own music from their home studio The Shed, whilst also designing album artworks and merchandise, collaborating on videos, managing social medias and organising shows. 2017 saw the group release their debut EP Wett Weather, and along with their follow up singles Devil’s Jam and Fool, saw their music featured on both Radio and Television in Australia, the UK and Spain.
Their latest single Sunburnt is the final single in anticipation for their debut album Potpourri Lake on October 26, 2018. In 2018, the band went on their first self-run interstate tour, the Don’t Tell Your Mother Tour, playing shows in Melbourne, Geelong, Mildura, Adelaide, Wollongong and Sydney.
As for what’s in store for Teenage Dads, they will continue to develop their skills as musicians and challenge themselves with their songwriting. They are currently preparing for more shows to wrap up 2018, playing alongside Ruby Fields and WHARVES on their Australian Tour.
